Pinewood Derby

While the girls were partying the boys were out at the race tracks. Isaac designed, cut out, and painted his own car (with only a little help from Dad). Even though he doesn't get to move on I think he did a great job and got the most creative award. Of course he had to add some sort of lego piece in there. The lego guy even had his own little trophy. Good job Isaac!!

Sofia the First

Maddie has been obsessed with the new Disney Jr. show Sofia the First since the minute she heard it was coming to tv. The movie aired around Thanksgiving and she has been watching it ever since (good thing we recorded it). She would even get ready for school extra early so she could watch all of it before she had to leave. Disney just recently started airing the episodes on Fridays. Maddie runs home from school just to watch them. Because of this obsession she changed her original birthday theme from Tangled to Sofia the First. Maddie and her friends had lots of fun learning to be a princess, making necklaces, eating breakfast for dinner, and watching the movie. What more could a 6 year old ask for?!!  Her neighbor friends even got her a giant castle that she gets to color. Thanks everyone!!

Maddie turns 6!

Happy Birthday to my princess Maddie. She is such a bright light in our family and such a great big sister to Lucas (and little sister). She loves to giggle and almost always has a smile on her face. Maddie never walks places, she cartwheels. She is a very talented gymnast and dancer and has a beautiful voice just like her big sister. She is nice to everyone she meets and is fun to be around. I am just now hearing that she is fought over by a bunch of the boys in her class who even give her rings (not sure what to think or do about that). Maddie always knows how to cheer us up when we are sad. I especially love her morning hugs. Thanks everyone for all of your birthday wishes, cards, and presents. She had a great day.

Christmas part 3

I am glad that Santa brought our presents to Virginia. One reason is that there is no way we could have fit them in our suitcases and the other is that it gave them a reason to not be so sad to leave Utah and gave them something to look forward to. Even though we spent all day traveling they were so excited and wide awake when we got home. They tore open their presents in no time! Thanks Santa!

Cousins

Hailey and Lucas also picked back up where they left off. They seem to be the best of friends and that maybe they knew each other before they were born. Lucas loves to give Hailey her binky and share toys with her. He is such a gentleman!

More Family Fun

The second half of our trip was spent at Nick's parent's house. We spent time playing with cousins, playing games, and being well fed. Grandma even took the kids swimming. (We made Maddie pay for it by doing dishes). They also let us borrow their van while we were out there (Thanks again)!! We awoke early the morning we were leaving to find notes all over from Grandma and Kellie. It was a nice way to say goodbye (even though we were crying) and we saved every one of them! 

New Years

We spent New Years Eve with some really good friends and their families. It was nice to be with them again and see the kids pick up right where they left off. We ate yummy food, played lots of games, and made lots of noise at midnight. Did you notice what Lucas was doing at midnight? I still can't believe he slept through all of it. We love and miss our Utah friends!!

Christmas part 2

This first half of our trip was spent at my sister's house with my parents. We arrived late Christmas Eve just in time to open our new pjs and go to bed. We left a note for Santa telling him where we where, but to leave our presents in Virginia since we wouldn't be able to bring them home on our airplane. The kids woke up wayyyy too early the next morning to find that Santa had filled their stockings and brought them a new video game. We had a yummy breakfast and then later that afternoon we headed to Grandpa and Grandma Moss' house for dinner (which was yummy). The kids were so excited to see family again!! So was I.
