Lucas' 3rd Birthday

Lucas wanted to have a Jake and the Neverland Pirates birthday party. He loves that show and anything super heros right now. He was able to open one present in the morning, which was a trunk full of Jake pirate toys. He then got to invited 9 friends and go to Burger King where the whole upstairs was reserved for his party. He had lots of fun playing with his friends in the playground. They also each got Jake headbands and pixie dust, played pass the tic toc croc, and find the gold doubloons. Thanks to Shauna for designing the goodie bag toppers. In the bags we put a crocodile, an eye patch, bubbles, a candy filled pirate, stickers, mustaches, chocolate gold coins, and playdough (there may have been more though).

After waiting patiently all day he finally was able to open family presents.

Lucas is such an energetic, adventurous, crazy, fun little boy. He loves to snuggle and his favorite foods right now are chicken nuggets and french fries with ketchup (I love how he pronounces ketchup). He is very sneaky and we are constantly asking each other where Lucas is because we know if he isn't with us he is up to no good. His facial expressions crack me up! He also loves to talk to strangers, especially clerks at stores. He wants to know their names and then proceeds to tell his life story. He loves to fall asleep getting haircuts, which I never knew was possible. He has many best friends and talks about them all the time. Happy Birthday!!

Maddie's Field Day

All 3 kids had a fun field day. They were all able to participate, but I was only lucky enough to help out with Maddie's. It had rained all day the day before so the grass was already wet and muddy. It only added to the fun. I think the best part was the snow cones and the fact that it was not too hot and humid.

Ancient Civilization Day

Isaac had to come up with a costume for his 3rd grade Ancient Civilization Day (meaning Mom had to come up with a costume). Of course I procrastinated and this is what I came up with the day before. He is a Roman Centurion made out of cardboard. Isn't he cute! I volunteered to help at his school and had fun following his class around while they visited ancient Rome, China, Mali, and Greece (there may have been one more place). They then got to feast on foods from those civilizations.

Volleyball All-Star

Aubrey decided to try volleyball during the Spring season this year. She ended up loving it and was actually pretty good at it (she takes after one of her parents). She tried out for the all-star team and made it! They had a few practices and then a Saturday tournament. They ended up taking 2nd place in the "bonus" bracket, but I think they would have gone further if they had more practices together. I think Aubrey has now found her favorite sport. She wants to play next year too.

Piano Recital 2013

Aubrey and Isaac had their first ever piano recital even though they have been playing for a few years. It was a good experience for them to play in front of other people. They both played 3 or 4 songs and did a great job. Aubrey played all of her songs from memory. Isaac did not, but he had them all memorized. I think he let his nerves get the best of him.

Art Walk and School Picnic

The kids had an art walk at their school a few days before summer started. The halls were full of colorful artwork. It was fun to see what they had been working on and we even got to see Maddie's ant farm. The last picture is of Maddie and her teacher Ms. Harlow.

Memorial Day

For Memorial Day this year we had some friends over for a BBQ. Of course I only remembered to take pictures of the food. I made a strawberry tart and some homemade hot dog buns (much better than store bought ones).
