The kids had fun today at Caleb's 4th birthday party. It was a carnival theme with lots of fun games and prizes. I got to make the cake and help get things ready for the party. I love planning and throwing parties. Thanks Amy!!
Yesterday was Aubrey's school dance festival. It was really hot outside, but fun to watch. Aubrey's class did a penguin dance that was really cute. Aubrey got into it as you will see from the video!
Isaac had his Preschool Spring Program/Graduation today. It was so cute watching them sing their songs and they even did an alphabet sign language song. I was very impressed with Isaac's preschool this year. He went from not really knowing his letters to reading. I still can't believe I am going to have two kids in elementary school next year. They grow up so fast.
Isaac's preschool is called Monkey Tree (hence the monkeys in the tree)!
NO this post is not about the Miley Cyrus song, but it is about a fun activity our ward had last night. The youth in our ward are going on a Pioneer Trek in a few weeks and in order to put everyone in the mood they had a Ward Hoe Down. I had fun taking pictures of everyone and even got some good blackmailing ones :) It was so cute watching my kids dancing. Maddie even danced with a boy about 10 times her age. We told him she would wait for him while he goes on his mission.
Casey's (Nick's sister) birthday was last Thursday, but we celebrated it this last Sunday at their parent's house. I decided to find some earrings for Casey and finally after 5 different stores I found some. Sunday morning Madelyn decided to climb on the kitchen counter and "play" with those hard to find earrings. While "playing" with them she managed to snap both in half! At least everyone was able to laugh about it and Aubrey still gave those earrings to Casey (without us knowing).
Sorry about the closed eyes Casey! Nick thinks he is so funny!
Here is my latest cake creation. It is Sonic (from the video games) for those of you who don't recognize him. Next I get to do an ipod cake and a carnival cake. I'm having lots of fun making cakes lately. Anyone need one?
This last weekend we went camping with some friends from our ward and neighborhood. The kids love camping and especially eating roasted marshmallows. I on the other hand have mixed feelings on camping. I never get enough sleep and then spend the next day tired and grumpy. This time was no exception. It was really cold and I was worried about the kids freezing. Other than being cold and not sleeping it was fun being with friends and watching the kids enjoy themselves. Note to self - next time bring more blankets!
Soccer season for the kids is offically over and can I say Wooohooo! It was lots of fun to see them play and watch them improve, but it was a crazy few months. Aubrey became more aggressive and got used to playing with those rough boys. She even learned how to pass and play defense and had several assists and a few goals. Isaac went from being shy and timid to being the defensive machine. He even scored 2 goals in 1 game! Did I mention that Nick was the assistant coach for both teams. I guess he loves soccer. Next it is my turn to play (oh and Nick's too)!
I know it has taken me way too long to post about this, but oh well. I finally got a camera, but am still fighting with Dell about the other one (long story). My children and husband spoiled me for Mother's Day. I got to go to a program in Aubrey's class (those pictures are on another camera which I can't find the thingy to download them), got lots of cards and pictures from my kids, my wonderful husband made me breakfast in bed, and I got to make and eat a yummy chocolate dessert. One of the cards that Aubrey gave me said that she would do whatever I told her to. I wonder if I should frame that one and hang it up and point to it when she doesn't do what I say. Here are some pictures from that day. We also celebrated Nick's mom's birthday!
