First Wedding Cake and more . . .

Okay so everyone has been wanting me to post pictures of my first wedding cake. It turned out really well, but it ended up taking about 2 days (with some breaks) and got a little frustrating at times. *Thanks to my sister for coming and helping with the kids.* When we delivered the cake the bride and especially the groom were very pleased with it and an inside source said it even tasted good. It was a really good learning experience, but I am glad to have it done.

I was also asked to make a ladybug cake and an individual cake for a 1st birthday party. I think birthday cakes are still my favorite cakes to make. They turned out really cute (with help of the mom) and I had alot of fun making them. Making cakes seem to be my way of relaxing (especially when the kids are in bed :).

Summer Fun

Over the last week the kids have had lots of fun with friends and cousins. They got to go slip-n-sliding, Madelyn had a dance party with Tavin, and they got to go swimming with Grandma Moss. What lucky kids!

Strawberry Tarts

We have so many strawberries right now so I decided I needed to do something fun with them. I recently bought some smaller tart pans that were on sale so I figured I would try strawberry tarts. They turned out so yummy. Although next time I think I will do a filling that doesn't need to be baked.

Soccer Time

Nick and I have now officially started our soccer season. Because of this we had to come home early from camping. Our games are Saturday mornings at 8:30am. I have decided to sacrifice my garage sales and precious sleep so I can spend some quality time running around in a huge field of grass with my husband. I never had the opportunity to play soccer growing up and it seems I did everything but play soccer. Because of my lack of ability last year Nick convinced me to play on a co-ed league with him (he was thinking I wouldn't show him up for once). It turned out to be really fun and addicting. I even scored a goal, but we won't go into the details of that. This last Saturday was Nick's turn to gloat because he scored a goal, but guess who got the assist (yup you guessed it) ME! I love you anyways sweetie. I will post pictures of Team Moss as soon as I take some.

Camping

You would think that since I grew up on a boat in the wilderness that I would be excited to go camping with my family. I have been putting off doing this and have used having babies as an excuse for not going. I finally gave in last weekend and went with a few other families from our ward. We made tinfoil dinners (I guess mine wasn't the typical kind. I made chicken with green beans and cherry tomatoes.) and all brought yummy desserts. The kids went on hikes, found birds nests, and kicked a cactus (which didn't end very well). It was fun catching up with everyone and listening to the kids sing songs, very loudly, around the campfire. Although we didn't stay the night (the reason will be in my next post) it was a lot of fun and we have now bought a 3 room tent so we can go to the ward camp out in July.

Mmmmmmmm harshmallows! (That is how Isaac says marshmallows)

We LOVE You Wes!

We just wanted to say Good Luck on your mission and that we will MISS you. We promise to write you lots and lots. Isaac will especially miss you Weswy. You will make a great missionary!

Caleb's Party and swimming

Caleb's birthday party on Saturday was so much fun! The kids got to play games, make headbands (that they wore for days after), and eat yummy volcano cake. The cake was easy to make and fun because it even "erupted" (with dry ice). Happy Birthday Caleb!
The kids were exhausted afterwards, but not too tired to go swimming at Grandma and Grandpa's in Farmington. Despite Isaac having to be saved from drowning several times we all had a good time (Isaac can sometimes be a little too brave). Thanks to Nick and Jeff for saving him! Sometimes I wonder if my kids are part fish, we couldn't get them out of the water. Tavin, Kellie, Grandma Moss, Wes, Casey, Jeff, and many other family members were all there. We love spending time with them.
