Dancers!

It was so much fun to go to Aubrey's school today for the Dance Festival. The Kindergarten did the Charleston and were sooo cute. Aubrey really go into it and remembered all of the steps. After the dance I decided to take some pictures (since I was video taping at the school and holding Maddie at the same time and didn't even get to use my camera). Isn't she adorable in her flapper outfit? I got a picture of Aubrey and her neighbor friend who was also in the dance, but wasn't her partner (they looked so cute in their costumes). Oh and I sewed the fringe on her shirt. Baking, sewing, cooking am I becoming Miss Holly Homemaker or what? Actually I am just really good at making it look that way. :)

Wheat Bread!

I ended up getting myself a wheat grinder for Mother's Day and today I used it to make homemade bread. Every time I think about homemade bread my mouth starts watering and I flash back to my childhood when my mom would make us her bread. I used to love watching the wheat turn into flour and then the flour turn into bread. It was fun watching my children have the same reaction as I made the bread today. I have made bread several times, but nothing compares to using freshly ground wheat. I think I have had about 4 pieces already and as I am writing this my mouth is watering again. I realized that I only had 3 pans in slightly different sizes and that is why the loaves are different sizes. MMMMMMMMMM bread!

Future Gymnastics Star!

Aubrey had her Gymnastics performance on Wednesday and did such a great job. It was set up just like a gymnastics meet which means they were able to perform on the balance beam, the floor, the bars, and the vault (I think that is what it is called). That is a lot of routines to remember and not once did her coach have to help her (I think she was the only one). We were all so proud of her. She says that she is done with gymnastics (for now) and is on to dance. If she stuck with it she could one day be a star. :)

Puppet shows!

After Aubrey goes to school each day Isaac gets pretty sad and lonely. In order to keep himself and the rest of us (my parents, Nick, and me) entertained a few days ago he decided to put on a puppet show. He turned the plano bench (piano bench) on it's side and told us the story of the 3 Little Pigs using stuffed animals (that were not even close to being pigs or a wolf). It was the cutest and funniest thing to watch . He loves to do things that make others laugh and is always there when someone is sad to cheer them up

Mommy Madelyn!

From the moment Maddie was born she has loved babies. She loves finding and making friends with other babies and playing with her baby dolls. She spends hours each day taking care of them. She rocks them, bounces them while saying shhhshhhshh, she feeds them with her bottles, and she gives them hugs and kisses. I think it is the cutest thing to watch and see her use her gift of caring for others.

Spring!

Okay I guess it was only Spring for like a week, but I LOVE this season and wanted to share a few pictures that remind me of Spring.

I love Tulips. Especially ones that look like these (and yes I actually grew these!).

My sister sent me this picture that she took last weekend while at our house (the guy on the bottom is her boyfriend). She says they were just having fun and being kids! I think it is so cute!! Never a dull moment in the Moss home.

Random things

Just wanted to let everyone know what the kids have been up to lately and post some recent pictures of them. Aubrey is almost done with Kindergarten and is ready for her gymnastics program and her dance festival at school (she is doing the Charleston). We (I am one of the room moms for her class) are also getting ready for the Kindergarten Field day on Friday. She has been busy busy. Isaac is having fun just being a boy. He has now learned all of his letters and their sounds (he did this in 2 weeks by watching the LeapFrog movies). He also loves to do homework and can't wait to start Preschool and go camping with his daddy this weekend. Madelyn is now almost 16 months and is very active. She loves to dance and climb. She also loves to yell our names and her favorite to yell is Isaac (hmmm I wonder where he got that from). Maddie is constantly getting into things, but it is really hard to get mad at her because she is so cute.

Practice Cake

This weekend was not only Mother's Day, but it was Nick's mom's birthday. It is also his sister Casey's birthday on Wednesday. Because of these birthdays and the need to practice the cake I am doing for a wedding, I decided to make a smaller version. This is the first time I have ever worked with fondant. Instead of buying the expensive version I decided to try the marshmallow recipe. It turned out to be really easy and reminded me of playing with play dough. It took me about 12 hours from start to finish and I didn't get a chance to do the actual bow for the top. I also was trying to hurry things aren't as straight or perfect as they will be. The pictures aren't the greatest, but you can see what it looks like. Now I need to find a 12 inch cake pan for the bottom layer.




The cake tasted really moist and yummy (it is from a doctored cake mix, if you want the recipe just let me know) and the fondant was actually pretty good. I still took it off because it got to be way too much sugar. Happy Birthday Daniele and Casey!! We love you!

Latest Cake!

A friend of mine asked if I could decorate a cake for her son's 4th birthday (He is Isaac's friend). They were having a Diego party and wanted a Baby Jaguar cake. I looked at several pictures and this is my attempt. I think he turned out pretty cute.

Dinosaur Museum!

I have been meaning to post for quite a while now, but life has been crazy! Since I am behind here are few pictures from our trip to the Dinosaur Museum while my parents were here a few weeks ago. The kids had so much fun. After we went through with my parents, we went through again with Heather and her girls. The kids love the Dinosaur Museum.
