Aubrey turns double digits!

Aubrey is growing up way too fast. On November 3rd she turned 10!! This year was supposed to be her 1-2 friend party, but because of our upcoming move we let her have a huge bash! She decided to go play laser tag and go bowling. It was sooo much fun. They got their own private room with a movie, pizza, drinks, cake, and an arcade card. I am so lucky to be Aubrey's mom. She is such a fun, smart, talented, and gorgeous person. She is a huge help to me, especially with Lucas. And this time there were no frowny faces in my pictures.

Halloween 2011

Trip to Washington DC

For those of you who have not heard, we are moving.:(
In order to show Aubrey and Isaac that it isn't Mars we went with Nick on his last business trip. Our hotel was near all of the museums and according to the kids was really nice (we had our own kitchen and the beds were in a separate room). While Nick worked the first few days the kids and I went and explored the museums. We went to the Air and Space Museum and the Natural History Museum. The kids were really excited to miss a few days of school, but what they didn't know is that they would be learning without even know it. They had lots of fun with all of the hands on things. Isaac even won a paper airplane flying contest.
The Natural History Museum seemed to be their favorite. They got to see and touch all kinds of creatures. Aubrey really liked seeing the Hope Diamond and all of the other gems and jewels. I think she secretly wants he daddy to buy her some.
We passed by the White House each day on our walk to the museums. This is as close as they will let cars get (without clearance), but you can get closer by foot.
Since Aubrey's birthday was coming up she decided to go to the American Girl store and get her doll Elizabeth's hair fixed. As you can see she got the royal treatment.
We also showed the kids how to ride the Metro (public transportation), got to meet some of Nick's new coworkers, and ate lots of yummy food.

Carving our pumpkins

The kids couldn't wait to carve their pumpkins, but I made them wait a few weeks so they wouldn't get moldy before Halloween. They even got to have their cousins over to help! Look who is excited about me taking pictures again.

Pumpkins

This year our garden gave us just enough pumpkins for each kid to have their own (Nick and I shared the biggest still partly green one). We let the kids go out and pick which one they wanted and they just loved me making them pose pictures. :) I just noticed that Aubrey doesn't look very excited in the pictures, but they all had fun.

Copy Cat?

This is how and where I found Lucas the other day. He was sitting in Maddie's chair talking on Daddy's old cell phone. I wonder who he got that from.

Lucas' favorite word

Even though you can't see him you sure can hear him. Little stinker!!
