Terrible Twos

About a week before Lucas' actual birthday he hit his terrible twos. He has been throwing tantrums and destroying everything he touches ever since. Don't be fooled by his adorable face and heart melting smile. His new hobbies include; drawing on himself and anything else he can with permanent marker, spilling anything liquid on the floor and carpet, chasing his siblings around while throwing items at them, cutting holes in his pack n play with scissors. dumping a container of body wash all over the carpet and a dresser, spraying cleaner all over himself and the house, hitting, kicking, biting, and so many others. I know it looks like I am a horrible mother and don't ever watch him, but most of this he does in about 2 seconds. He is there one second and gone the next. He also knows exactly what he is doing and it is as if he has been plotting in his sleep.

He isn't always a trouble maker. He also likes to cuddle, give kisses, sing (especially a song we made up on the way to Virginia), kickle (tickle) mommy, wear any shoes that make noises on the floor, "help" mommy clean, play with his grandparents and other family members, go to nursery and have nack (snack) and play with balls, play with his toy cars, and go mimming (swimming).

Lucas' new look

While I was inside packing I guess Lucas was outside doing this. You can't see from this picture, but he is only in a shirt and diaper. My neighbor and friend called to let me know that she loved his hat (it is an Easter basket that we actually sold at our garage sale). I am kind of sad now that we sold it.

The kids were so cute in their dance festival at school this year. They did songs from the 80s. Aubrey danced to R.O.C.K. in the USA, Isaac danced to Eye of the Tiger, and Maddie danced to Dancing on the Ceiling. Isaac was excited to get the song he did and took his dance very seriously.

Preschool Graduation

Madelyn went to preschool at the elementary school this last year. She got to go four days a week for about 3 hours a day (good practice for all day kindergarten this next year). She LOVED it! She started off not wanting to go and making me walk her to the line everyday, but she quickly got over being scared and made lots of friends. She seems to make new friends wherever she goes. She was so excited to show us what she learned and sing songs for us at her graduation. She got a cute little cap and diploma. She is ready for Kindergarten to start.

Soccer!

Soccer is over for another year. They all had lots of fun playing and Maddie really surprised us spring season. She was a crazy aggressive girl in her games. She scored at least one goal in every game and even knocked her own teammates over to get the ball. Aubrey's team forgot to do pictures this year. Oh well.

Farm

Lucas LOVES animals. His favorite is horses and whenever he sees them he neighs and goes crazy (he does the same with cows). I decided to take him and Maddie to the farm with my friend and her son and Rachel and Hailey. There were so many babies! The kids all wanted to take a baby goat home, but we had to explain to them that they don't stay that cute. Lucas loved the animals, but from far away.

4th Grade Pioneer Day

Aubrey has been learning about Utah history this year and part of that has been about pioneers. A few weeks ago she got to dress up and be a pioneer for a day (it was tons easier than they had it though). She was put in a pioneer family and got to go around to different stations where they played games, made scones and fudge, went hunting, sewed, and all kinds of other fun pioneer things.

I was able to go help out at the fudge station. It was yummy and very messy. I had fun watching all of the kids and having to dress up wasn't all that bad either.
