Poor Maddie

Our poor Maddie got croup a few weeks ago and had to go to the ER. She woke up and could barely breathe at all. We put her in the bathroom with the hot shower running and it only helped a tiny bit. At the ER she had to take some steroids and do a few breathing treatments. I guess it wasn't busy at all because she had 4 nurses and a few Doctors waiting on her hand and foot. Maybe that is why she is smiling in this picture. :)

Fun with Friends and Family part 2

Nick just recently found a bunch of pictures from before we moved on his phone.

I wrote a post about going to St. George titled fun with friends and family. When we were down in St. George we went to Aladdin at the Tuacahn (an outdoor theater back in the red rocks). It is done by Disney and had quite a few new songs. The kids loved it, but especially loved the flying carpet part. Lucas stayed home with Grandpa and Grandma because he wasn't old enough to go and I don't think he would have sat through it anyways.
I also had the opportunity to help with our ward's float in the Lehi City parade (which is also in the other post I mentioned). The float was titled "gumball round-up". The kids got to dress like cowboys and play with "gumballs". It was soooo hot, but they did a great job. Nick and I also got to walk with them to make sure they were hydrated.

Back to School Picnic

On Friday we went to a picnic at the kid's new school. There were yummy desserts, face painting, tattoos, and a DJ. It was also extremely humid and hot.

1st Day of School

3rd and 5th graders
 Kindergarten

Lucas wants to be just like his siblings. He has been having a hard time lately. He cried all the way home this morning after we dropped the kids off.

Air and Space Museum

After the Newseum we headed over to the Air and Space Museum to show Maddie and Lucas around since they are the only ones who haven't been there. They flew planes, played in the kid area, looked through telescopes, played a trivia game, and browsed in the store.

Newseum

On Labor Day we decided to go to the National Mall in DC. Since we had free tickets from Nick's work we headed over to the Newseum first. We started out looking at some Pulitzer Prize-Winning photographs. Many of the pictures were heartbreaking. Aubrey stopped looking after a while and said she is glad we live where we live. We saw the Berlin Wall, pieces and pictures from 9/11, FBI most wanted, comics, two movies - one was a 4D, the kids got to be news reporters, and we played in an interactive area where you could take pictures of yourself and post them on a wall. Overall it was pretty fun and the kids seemed to enjoy themselves. Oh and we ate lunch in the cafeteria and the food was not bad, but of course expensive.

 Can you spot the goofballs?

 Pretty view from the top!

Train Fun

It is nice to see that my kids CAN get along and play together without fighting. We have this Geotracks train set that Isaac got when he was really little. Lucas found it and the kids had fun playing with it for a few days. I just wanted to document them actually getting along.
