Train Fun

It is nice to see that my kids CAN get along and play together without fighting. We have this Geotracks train set that Isaac got when he was really little. Lucas found it and the kids had fun playing with it for a few days. I just wanted to document them actually getting along.

Atlantis

In my church I get to teach the 8-9 year old girls on Sundays and then twice a month I help plan fun activities for the 8-11 year old girls. For our kick off/end of summer activity we went to a place called Atlantis. Nick came along so he could help with our kids while I was with the girls. Atlantis is hidden back in the Bull Run Regional Park (so in the middle of the woods) right down the road from us. Everything around here is in the middle of the woods it seems. It isn't a huge water park, but I thought it was big enough and the kids had fun. There were two big slides, a kiddie area, a sandbox, two pool areas with several smaller slides, and a bucket dumping splash pad area. If you go after 4:00pm it is only $5/person. My kids got in free because they participated in the library reading program and got a free pass in their coupon book. Too bad it closes after Labor Day. I guess we will have to go a lot next year.

Burke Lake

We went to a playgroup at a place called Burke Lake. It is a huge county park around a lake. They have fishing, boating, camping, volleyball courts, trails, a golf course, a miniature golf course, driving range, a carousel, a miniature train, and lots more. The kid had lots of fun riding the train and carousel and playing on the playground. Lucas decided not to go to bed and to run around terrorizing everyone until about 1:00am the night before so we didn't stay too long. The kids made some new friends and I met some really nice women from our ward.

Nationals Game

Nick got tickets to the Washington Nationals baseball game from work. The game was last night and in his company suite. The kids were so excited all day waiting to go, especially Isaac. The Nationals played (versed as the kids would say) the Atlanta Braves. Even though the game got delayed an hour because of rain we still had fun. The game ended up going 13 innings and ended a little after midnight. We didn't stay the whole time though. Our kids never would have lasted that long. The Nationals won and the final score was 5-4.

This is what Lucas did most of the time. He also got into all of the cabinets and the ice.

Backyard fun!

This is what the kids like to do in the backyard. They love to play bumper slide and try to knock each other off. At least no one has gotten hurt yet.

Cox Farms

Since we weren't able to have a garden this year we found this cute farm that sells yummy fruits and veggies. We drive past it all the time and the kids love to look at all of the baby goats. There are lots of fun things for the kids to to play on and with. I took a few pictures of them having fun. We bought some yummy peaches, a watermelon, some tomatoes, and corn. It was a delicious! I guess during the Fall it turns into a Fall Festival. Should be fun!!

Can you tell who is who?

Bike ride and house pictures

I have been asked by several people to post some pictures of our house and the area we live in. Here are a few (not that great). I decided to take these while the kids and Nick were getting ready to go on a bike ride. I stayed home to update our blog. :)

This is one side of our house. The living room is those front windows and the top ones are bedrooms. Behind the garage is a family room and then there is a large basement off of the kitchen.
 Living room and dining room.
Kitchen and family room. Like our little table? We haven't bought a dining room table yet so we are all eating at this table (hence the two folding chairs). This was right after dinner so the extra chairs weren't put away yet.

Out here the milk from Costco comes in these weird gallon containers. It is nice though because I can buy as many gallons as I want because they don't come in boxes of 2. They are also a lot cheaper at Costco than at the store.
