Here are a few cakes I've made, but there haven't been many because I just haven't felt well enough to. On a side note; we find out on Wednesday whether we are having a boy or girl. I will let everyone know as soon as I get a chance :)
So I tried really hard to turn this video, but I couldn't figure out how. Sorry. Madelyn loves to sing. She seems to sing more than she talks. She begged me to film her the other day and because she is too cute to say no to I decided to. Enjoy!
A few weekends ago we decided to run away to St. George. I saw that it was going to sunny and 60 degrees down there compared to 40 and rainy/snowy here. We had lots of fun riding scooters, chasing lizards, sitting in the warm sun, going hiking, playing pickle ball, going out to dinner, shopping, bowling, and more eating out. It was so nice that when Monday came no one wanted to go home. Hopefully sometime soon we will have warm weather like that here because I am getting really sick of the COLD! Oh and the bowling was my favorite mostly because I beat Nick. I was behind, but in the 10th frame I got 2 strikes and beat him 105 to 102.
Madelyn had lots of fun celebrating her 3rd birthday. She was spoiled with lots of princess presents. *I added some Disney pictures to the Happy Birthday Aubrey post.
Christmas didn't seem like Christmas this year. There were no goodies baking, or Christmas music playing, or decorations hung (well not until about a week before Christmas). At first I felt guilty for not doing much this year for Christmas. I felt guilty for feeling so sick and for spending so much time with my pillow. I would read other blogs and see the cute crafts being made and the yummy treats being baked and become jealous. After much sulking I finally realized what Christmas is all about. I realized that we didn't need all the "fluff" (as my husband would call it) to feel the Christmas spirit. During Christmas we spent more time together as a family and focused more on Christ. This made me realize that I need to slow down and take time to be more connected to my kids. It was the first time I felt that being this sick was a blessing.
Time to play a little catch-up. Aubrey was baptized on Saturday, December 5th, 2009 by her Dad. She was so excited and nervous at the same time. We are so proud of Aubrey for choosing to be baptized and for her constant example to her brother and sister. We had lots of family and friends who came to see her that day (we missed those who couldn't be there) and luckily her Mom was feeling well enough to be there also. I really enjoyed being able to see her right before and then right after and I then talking with her while helping her get dried off and dressed. I don't think she stopped smiling at all that whole day.
Okay so I feel like I have been in a hole for the last few months. We found out while at Disneyland in November that we were going to have another baby. From about the moment we got home I have been soooo sick. I am so behind on updating and hope that now that I am on medication (which helps me to function a little bit better) I can update this thing. I have so many pictures sitting in my camera waiting for their turn at fame. So please be patient and as I try to dig myself out of my hole and try to return to a somewhat normal life (if that is at all possible). :)
The main reason I decided to post today was to wish my baby a Happy 3rd Birthday!! I can't believe she is 3! She has brought so much joy and excitement to our lives. She has been so cute for the last few weeks planning her own birthday party (which is Princess of course and we still have to figure out a date to have it) and counting down to her birthday. I think that is when I finally realized that she is not a little baby anymore, but is now very grown-up. We love you Madelyn.
